Hi All,

Wanted to introduce myself and say hi. We just bought a 2010 EX-L Odyssey. We have one 3 year old son and a 5 year old Greyhound retired racer and just a few months ago we decided to foster an older (7 years old) female Greyhound and she has been so amazingly wonderful and fitted into our "pack" so well we've decided to keep her. So, with two large dogs and a kid my VW wagon is simply not going to work anymore and that is where the Odyssey comes in.

I'm a HUGE VW fan and all my cars for the last 20 years have either been VW or Audi, this is my first Honda and I'm really enjoying it so far.

My interests are in aviation, cars and anything to do with water (sailing, kyaking and SCUBA). We also love to travel and see and visit new places.

I'm looking forward to meeting new folks on here and learning and eventually contributing to what looks like a wonderful forum community. :)

Craig,
Congratulations. Which version of Odyssey EXL did you purchase? The RES or Nav/RES? How do you like the motorized rear hatch? I wish my '08 EXL had that. If you have any specific questions about your Odyssey I'd be more than willing to try to answer them (as I am sure anyone else in this forum). Take care.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your responce. I really like the motorized rear hatch as I have the 3rd row seats permanently folded into the floor and that wonderfully large space is used for our two Greyhounds. It is very convenient having the hatch and side doors motorized.

I simply got the EX-L without Nav or RES. I would have liked to get NAV without the RES but as you know it is not available.

The only issue I have is I have to slam the hell out of the drivers door to close it. If I simply close it firmly then it does not shut. Must be something with the allignment or something. On my first oil change I will get the dealer to address it for me.

After two fill ups I'm averaging 20.7Mpg. I like to track my fuel usage via a spreadsheet I created to see real world figures. It is not too bad considering I only have 600 odd miles on the clock and its a good mix of city/highway driving with lots of A/C to keep the dogs and people cool.
