What, no posts in here. Well that's going to change......

Here's a pic of Pate, a rescue dog who's been with me 8 months now. he still has a few rough edges, but he's coming along just fine.......He's resting at the cottage we rented last year.

he's almost 4 and was about to be put down. A great friend now.

Every one of these pets were rescued from early endings.

Our beloved Chim (officially Chimmy Changa :p), may he rest in peace.

He was a rescued from a kill shelter in WV along with two sisters, hours from being put down. He was part pointer and pit bull, but all love once he trusted you (this was a photo taken the day we brought our son home from the hospital). He had many problems and sadly had to be put down in '04. At least we had four good years with him!

We will adopt again, when the timing is right (and the kids are a little older!).

Both those last two shots are great. germs are okay, they build our defenses.

What is an Havanese? Any pics.....

Our beagle, Rainbow (named by our 3 year old) on a camping trip. He really enjoyed being out among the new smells.

Unfortunately, we had to put him down this Friday from kidney failure:(. The hardest thing I have had to do as a Dad. Rainbow was loved by many and will always be in our hearts.

I have done that and been there. My heart is with you and your family.
Our friends are missed forever.

Here are a few pics of my wonderous retired racer named Barrett. He is 5 years old and is the best behaved dog and sweetest boy I've ever known.

We are just in the process of adopting another Greyhound from the same rescue we got Barrett from, that we have been fostering, her name is Kasey. She broke her leg in a race and fortunately for her she was an excellent racer so they didn't put her down and used her for breeding after setting her leg. She still gets a shaky leg at times and tires quicker than Barrett but she is such a sweet and outgoing girl.

I usually look for rescue animals as well. I got my parents a rescue cat from a shelter. I want to get a dog from a shelter.

I was watching national geographic channel last week and see that a dog is being trained to help out the blind people... and guide them in going anywhere...
