.... and other annoyances.
I've had my '09 EX for a year and a half, but I still can't get used to the fact that when I lock out the other three windows' individual controls, I ALSO cannot control their windows. I have to unlock all to adjust any of them from the driver's control. WE have twin toddlers, so keeping their controls locked out is preferable. Just a small annoyance, but if i decide to crack either of the second row windows for a little air, my reflex is to try first then remember that I have to switch them on, adjust, then disable them again immediately before their little fingers go to work. I guess I should be grateful they left my own window operational during the lockout of the other three. But why wouldn't they think the driver would want complete control of all the windows at all times?
The "toll booth" feature - requiring the window control to be deftly manipulated to avoid a full lowering or raising - is a bit of an annoyance in itself but a well used general automotive feature. This Odyssey is the first time I've had the full upward window at a touch of the lever though.
What would be perfect is if I could allow my wife in the front passenger seat to be able to operate her window at will while the babies' second row windows remained disabled. She is as annoyed as I am that she has to keep asking permission to lower or raise her window. The babies are precocious toddlers, so, often enough, as soon as I enable all the windows to allow Mommy to ventilate, they get to work on their own, and I have to invoke the "don't let me have to pull this car over" decree to achieve closing them again and resetting the lockout of all three. That is until Mommy wants to adjust hers again. Small annoyance - others?
For toddlers in car seats on the second row, the cup holder is out of reach, down near the floor on the door panel. Thank goodness those sippy cups have lids. Remarkably, my girl on my side CAN reach the second row AC controls at the ceiling, and there's on lockdown of the sun shading blind. Until a few months ago, it was secured by a swatch of clear packing tape and a threat of the "pull over" if there's any tampering.
