: Hood Air Deflector Anyone?

We just took delivery of our 08 Odyssey Touring and just love it. I immediately ordered the cargo net, cargo mat and cargo tray from H and A. But I noticed after driving on a short trip that the hood and windshield seemed to catch every bug along the way. I have seen other MV brands and SUVs where there was a "hood air deflector" installed which is supposed to redirect the air up over the front of the hood and windshield.

Honda says it "helps keep your windshield clean while protecting your hoods paint" and "helps deflect dirt, insects and minor road debris to protect the finish on your Odyssey's hood".

Do any of you have experience with the one from Honda for the Odyssey? Does it really do any good? Does it create additional wind noise?

We have one on our 01. It just seems to deflect the bugs higher onto the windscreen. Although nothing has hit the hood yet. :)

I wouldn't purchase the original from Honda as it is too expensive and some may say it's ugly, I would purchase one call "FORMFIT" (smoke color) that is made by Focus Auto Design that is about half the cost and in my opinion looks much better also none gives full protection from stone chips etc it just minimises it.

I bought my 2007 EX-L just a few weeks ago. Got it waxed yesterday and installed a WeatherTech deflector in the hope that the bugs would hit higher on the windshield. It is not full width, it's the type that is only as wide as the area in-between the headlights.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have made any difference at all as they are smacking right at eye level. I'm very disappointed.

At least it protects the leading edge of the hood.
