My 02 Ody has power sliding doors and the driver side door I getting hung up somewhere. It opens fine, but when I pull the handle and it starts to close, it starts jerking and won't close all the way. Does anyone know how I can fix it or clean it out myself?

Honda Has alot of issues with their sliding doors especially the ones that are powered, I would check both the bottom and top track (usually the bottom) to see if there is any object obstructing the bearing wheel also both bearings might need replacing, in conclusion these door track needs cleaning and lubrication regularly with lithium grease and the sub seals needs to be lubricated with silicone grease or spray.

i also have issues with my sliding doors...the pass side opens, but won't close...have to use the button on the dash to close. the driver side is mostly my fault for not working, as it jerks real bad when opening. i got real mad at it one day and slammed it shut manually...that didn't help. (LOL)
i was told to clean each each contact on the door and door jam with a pencil eraser...usually get gummed up. i seemed to get some black junk off the contacts...helped a bit, but not much. guess i'll keep experimenting until they work a little better.

My passenger side sliding door was getting hung up during closing also and after a bunch of lubrication and observation i noticed one little thing that solved the problem. I noticed the lower door seal was shifted. probably due to someone getting in or out of the van but who knows. I pulled the door sill trim off and took the seal off completely. i reinstalled the trim so that it was even and secure the whole way across the door opening and reinstalled the door sill guard. the door has worked perfectly since.
sorry no pics but i hope this makes sense.
