Yesterday my wife and I got rear ended by a Mazda SUV. The rear side curtain airbags did not deploy. We were at a stop light and a guy rammed into our vehicle at 40 mph. The vehicle took it really hard. Any input on this.

I'm not certain of the placement of the sensors for the side bags, but since you were hit from behind, it's possible that it just never triggered the sensor due to the placement of the hit. Sorry...not sure beyond that.

We are all ok. The impact was dead center of the bumper and the rear door. Here are some pics of the accident.
