I own Odyssey May-2007 33000 miles. Recently I visisted local dealer here in Texas to have oil maintenance. The dealer also highly recommended me to do:
(1) Flush and change Power Steering fluids (said dirty)
(2) Clean carbon build up
Total cost $250 and I approved such recommended maintenance.
At home, when doing my own research, I found that peope rarely change power steering fluids and clean carbon build up (at valve) at ~30000 miles.
Am I a victim of the dealer trying to make more money in this recession economy and recommend unnecessary maintenance? When I did my 30000 regular maintenance at the same dealer, they did not mention anything about the above.
Thank you.
