hi there. i have been reading alot about problems with the transmission on my van. how can check to see if the transmission has been changed or if there has been any work done to it. when i bought the van i did get a carfax report but it said nothing about it. and there is nothing in the service records. so should i be worried i will get the same probs as others have had. by the way i have 135xxx on the odo.

I guess you have to regisiter with honda owners link( its called something like that sorry). What color is your tranny fluid? Is it red and doesn't smell burnt or is it dark and smell burnt. If it is dark you need to drain and fill three times, between each drain and fill, drive your ody on the highway to lockup the torque converter. Not all this trannys fail. Don't worry about it and enjoy your van.

Pull the dipstick up for the tranny and see what color the tranny fluid is on the dipstick and give it a good sniff.

Yes that is good. Just keep an eye on it and I would replace the tranny fluid every 30,000 miles. Also do you have a tranny cooler on it and a add on filter? The ody comes with one but they are not as good. I would put an aftermarket tranny cooler and an inline filter, both very easy to put in and it doesn't cost too much. Other than that enjoy driving the best van out there.
