Today alone was $3137.45 on the second transmission. I only have 80k miles on the van! The first transmission went back in 03. That was still under warranty.
I did the 60k repair, kinda late, but I did it anyway. New timing belt, water pump, new catalytic converter, front brakes, front rotors, rear drums, rear brakes, rear engine mounts, front engine mounts, transmission mounts, oil gasket, seals, oils, etc.. Oh, yeah $300 on Tylenol.:D
I had a problem too with the passenger side automatic door not opening. The first time the dealer fixed it. When it wouldn't open I had to use the door manually and that door is so heavy I pulled the handle off. That was under warranty at the time too.
I discovered one day that there's something with the battery and the right side door. The door wasn't working and I needed a new battery, when I installed the new battery the door worked. Whenever the door acts up I disconnect the battery and it works. I have know idea why.
Of course the van runs great now, it's practically new. My confidence in it is shot though. If I see that check engine light come on one more time I'm going to pull over climb on the roof and jump on it until I come threw.
I'm thinking about spending a couple of dollars more on it; to buy a for sale sign. Should I keep it or sell it? Thanks for you help.
