Today alone was $3137.45 on the second transmission. I only have 80k miles on the van! The first transmission went back in 03. That was still under warranty.

I did the 60k repair, kinda late, but I did it anyway. New timing belt, water pump, new catalytic converter, front brakes, front rotors, rear drums, rear brakes, rear engine mounts, front engine mounts, transmission mounts, oil gasket, seals, oils, etc.. Oh, yeah $300 on Tylenol.:D

I had a problem too with the passenger side automatic door not opening. The first time the dealer fixed it. When it wouldn't open I had to use the door manually and that door is so heavy I pulled the handle off. That was under warranty at the time too.

I discovered one day that there's something with the battery and the right side door. The door wasn't working and I needed a new battery, when I installed the new battery the door worked. Whenever the door acts up I disconnect the battery and it works. I have know idea why.

Of course the van runs great now, it's practically new. My confidence in it is shot though. If I see that check engine light come on one more time I'm going to pull over climb on the roof and jump on it until I come threw.

I'm thinking about spending a couple of dollars more on it; to buy a for sale sign. Should I keep it or sell it? Thanks for you help.

I would keep it. In this econmy it is better to spend a few dolars than a whole lot. Also what year is your van? Did you try to get honda to replace the tranny for free or at discount? The is a warrenty for 99-01 9 years or 109,000 miles. Also why did you replace your timing belt at 60k. It is not due until 105k along with the water pump.

I thought your suppose to replace it a 60k miles? It had 80k when it was done. Whenever the timing belt or the water pump needs changing most mechanics tell you to change both otherwise you end up paying twice. If the car wasn't ten years old, I'd gamble a little, but my luck hasn't been so good with this car in the last couple of months.

Trade it in for a new ody. The new ones are updated so much and have had very very very few tranny problems. In 07 they put the rigdeline tranny in the ody so it is a beifer tranny. I have an 07 and I drove in my friends 03 and boy was there a difference. Also a car that is ten years old tend to start to have problems. Yes the timing belt is surpose to be replaced at 105,000 miles. Oh well you are just a little early. Also that is what is suggested to do when you change the belt is to change the pump. Like you said theres no point in paying twice.
