We have been to the dealer on multiple times with rear brake noise. It started making a moaning type noise at slow speeds when turning left. It has now progressed to making the noise very loudly when applying the brakes at slow speeds anytime or directions. We have been told by our dealer that this is a known issue by Honda. Yet the Honda customer service rep. has no known issues on the Odyssey like this. The dealer says this is not a safety issue as all parts check good. I am very unhappy as a first time Honda owner in their customer service in regards to this issue. It is very apparent this is a known issue if you just do a net search or visit edmunds.com. I am surprised that Honda is still receiving such good reviews on this model.

If Honda does read this site I hope to hear from then soon. If anyone else has any info. on this problem being fixed please let me know.

Thanks

I'm assuming that the rear brake are drums, if so it's a well documented problem so I'm kind of surprise that Honda doesn't know how to correct it because they are supposedly factory trained technicans. The fault is the drums Honda has updated drums to correct this groaning sound however I would try a premium after market drum as the up dated one in Canada is almost $200 (not sure of your location).

are you sure it's the brakes or is it the power steering whine?
and providing us with your model year would be helpful.
