02 odyssey - just turned 90,000miles. Engine lite came on same day, took to advance auto - ran a check stated P1456 code - multifunction emission control. Rep stated take to honda. Took to Honda in Akron Ohio to get the standard oil changed, and came out with bad news that i have 2 motor mounts going bad an they looked cracked. Had issues with this Od in sept. took it to Honda, they could not find a problem. Problem was when backing up or going around a corner i would get a poppping sound. TOok it to multiple mechanics and no one could find any issue, they said the sway bars are fine along with Tran. Had the front struts changed because it was time and they could of contributed. After replacing struts still noise, the independent garage replace the right stuts thinking maybe it was bad. Since i have replaced the struts, no issues other on the honda i now have the mounts going bad.
Could this be what the popping noice was?
Should the motor mounts go bad 90k,sorry for asking but i am a female and no nothing about cars. I do not want to be taken as it was over 500.00 in akron ohio to do this at a Honda dealership. I do not want to get taken just because i am a women.
Should i contact Honda to take care of this as i do not think it should of happend, or is this something that is maintenance on a 02. I love my honda and was thinking about a new one. But still love the 02 model as it is paid for. That is the biggest hurdle is paid for. Thanks for anyone's help.
