Am I the first to get the claim form from the class action lawsuit against Honda and Michelin? Yeah! Just filled out the paperwork and will mail it in tomorrow! Extended warranty on tires (good, cause I am in need of replacing my second set!) and reimbursement for "some" of the cost (prorated) of my initial replacement at 21k miles. The info is available at sfmslaw.com. :D I will be de-Paxing this summer!

Got mine in the mail, too. We got nearly 50k out of our PAX tires, presumably because I am religious about rotation and tire pressure, and because we put nearly 22k/year in highway miles on the van (few city miles). The main thing that makes me mad about the whole experience is that when I tried to order a set of wheels/tires through Tire Rack to dePAX, they wouldn't sell me tires because of their exclusive deal with Honda. Grr.

We de-PAXed with a set of 17" Acura RL takeoffs, but still don't have a spare tire. I guess I'll call the dealer and find out what the cost is for a spare tire kit since I can get $110 off of it ...

Got the letter too and need to fill it out and send it in. Need tires too, just about 30K on the original and they're shot (SoloTSi97, HTH did you get 50k, wow?!?!).

Btw one of the first things I did was get a spare, got a brand new one from an EX-L off ebay for cheap. Only other thing you need is the tie down bolt you can get from the dealer for cheap too. Don't bother with the dealer for the spare though, they want bucks just for the rim and didn't even offer a tire. Check ebay or a salvage yard.

You know, I have no idea. We have 78k on our '05 van, though, and it's all highway miles. So, I suspect it's just that we were easy on them. That, and as I said I'm anal about things like tire pressure and rotation. One thing's for sure, I ain't complainin'! :D

Great tip, I'll look into that. Thanks!

I bought the entire spare tire kit from the dealer for about $250, so I think I'll be turning my form in for the $110 "refund."

Me too, once I saw the shoulder wear I really pressed the dealer. Alignment was checked and checked and checked and tire pressures and rotations and ballancing were done ALL the time yet it still made no difference. So I guess now Mich/Hond are saying that wear is "normal" ... yea right.

I tried the dealer when I first go the van (3 dealers actually) and they had nothing and were NO help. One said I could get the EX-L spare but just the rim for 150 bucks but had to find a tire myself. The other two said I was out of luck period. I ended up getting a new EX-L spare from an auto wrecker and got the hold down bolt clamp thingy from the dealer all for under 100 bucks (90 actually). Out of curiousity, what's included in the "kit" as they call it?

I have to say, while my dealer can be very good on most things... this Michelin issue is not one of those things. I have not pressed them on the current set of tires as I am hoping to have some additional lawsuit info in front of me. I CAN tell you that the second set has barely 23K on them and they are DANGEROUS to drive in the rain. For comparison purposes, I have an '07 Ridgeline with virtually the same mileage and I bet I have more than another year left on those Michelins... I understand the inherent difference between "car" tires and my "truck" tires - but I cannot see this on a FAMILY vehicle...

Same here, dealer is not trustworthy when it comes to these tires, mine says they officially have "never heard of any PAX lawsuit" if you can believe that?!?! Lying rats. Frustrating. This whole PAX thing blows big time.

My dealer did acknowledge the lawsuit and told me that they had been instructed to send their customers home with the paperwork. But, no discount on pending work - simply apply for reimbursement.... Like I got 1500 to throw at this and wait for some lawsuit reimbursement!

Just wondering if anyone has actually received a check in the mail for their reimbursement. I submitted my claim during the first week of January 2010 and here it is March--and still nothing!! Not a letter or anything. Because I live in Alaska, I was forced to DePAX due to a lack of repair facilites. I would have had to drive to Seattle which is 3000 miles away!!

I am hoping to recieve the entire $1800 it cost me to DePAX: new TPMS, new rims and new tires. I also asked them for the cost of my 5 day hotel stay and 700 mile round trip in gas (all while driving on a flat tire) just to be told in Anchorage that their eqiupment was broken.

So NOW, I have four pretty new tires with Honda Od EX-L style rims and my TPMS light does NOT come on (thankful for that).
I would love to hear from anyone who has some info on payment. I could really use that money right about now!!

Thanks a bunch

I submitted a claim by the January cutoff date and haven't received any response. All four tires were replaced last June. I could sure use the reimbursement or at least some notice that the claim was received. I sent an email to the law firm involved in the class action this morning. Hoping for a reply with some information on claims settlement process.

Although usually I don't agree with lawsuits, I think the women involved in this one was right. Airplanes that are pressurized maintain a cabin pressure of about the same you would experience at 8000 feet. We still don't know what the problem was, but if it was a problem that made for significant pressure changes in flight, and NW knew, but did nothing to fix them, they are negligent.

I asked about that lawsuit and it was over by the time I was trying to get in on it.
You had to file something by a certain date that was about a year ago I thought? I will go to that website and check it out.

I just depaxed yesterday and did want to share my experience. I am not an automotive guy and dreaded the experience but was able to find, what I think, is the best situation to depax for anyone. It was completely turnkey and not anymore expensive than other options.

I made a blog post at http://www.billwynne.com/depax-kits/
