I own a 2006 Odyssey EXL. The power steering fails intermittently when moving at slow speeds. The steering wheel becomes almost impossible to turn. If the accelerator is engaged without moving the problem solves itself.
The Dealership claimed this was the result of a failing power steering fluid pump. I paid for a replacement and the problem continues. They now claims it is the rack and they want me to shell out for the repair again.
I contacted Honda USA and Honda Canada and they provided little or NO assistance. My Odyssey is now out of warranty because of mileage.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone have any solutions?

You could go higher up the chain or take them toi small claims court, if it applies there.

I went all the way to the President of Honda of Americas and it didn't help. Unfortunately, in Canada there are not Lemon laws.
Did they replace the PS reservoir as per the TSB:07-005.PDF

I don't know. Is this a recall? Can you provide me with more information?
Thanks in advance
The PS reservoir is the defect and the debris damages the PS pump. The reservoir needs to be updated. If not, the PS pump will fail again. Check on this. I have a copy of the TSB that I will try to send via PM as I can't seem to get it to work on this site. Keeps blanking out some of the hyperlink???

Thank you.....I am not impressed with the dealership not catching this. Let's hope they will honor it.

I have a 2007 EX-L, I am the second owner while it was still under warranty. I am on my second ps pump, third for the car. The problem was high effort at slow speeds, such as pulling out of a parking spot or maneuvering around obstacles. After my first replacement I had to take it back several months later because the fluid was low. The dealer said there was no sign of leakage, they thought they forgot to top it off. Several months later the problem returned and they replaced the pump again. Fortunately I had gotten an extended warranty before the factory warranty expired. So far I haven't had any more problems with steering. Not sure if this helps any, good luck with your dealer.

Recently my power steering started groaning when near-lock going at parking lot maneuvering speeds.
I checked the reservoir and it is actually overfilled. Anyone else have this issue?
