Well, before heading on a road trip from Houston to California we thought it would be an good idea to get new PAX tires and the front end aligned on my wife’s 2006 Odyssey, so we had John Eagle Honda in Houston install four new tires and perform a four wheel alignment.

Fast-forward to today, for the last few weeks my wife has complained that there was a “funny” noise coming from the front end. So today I got the car up on the ramps a what did I notice? That the right and the left rod end jam nuts were not tightened down. For the vehicle mechanics uneducated, these are the nuts that keep the front wheels connected to the steering mechanism!!! We have driven the car for several months (and round trip to California) with BOTH jam nuts loose.

As you might remember, the story started out that we had the install four new tires too, well two of the four tires had to be re-mounted while we were in California because, John Eagle Honda mounted them wrong. So, we had them do two jobs, tires and alignment and they screwed both of them up, and there screw-up were dangerous enough to kill someone (not to mention the excess wear on the very expense PAX tires). If you have a Honda, I recommend that you take it to anyone but John Eagle Honda in Houston!!!

Sorry to hear that you had problems with your service monkeys. It is good that you jacked it up and looked. Did you call that dealer back and tell them what they did wrong?

I found the problem Saturday afternoon (17 October 2009). Drove straight to the shop only to find that they were closed for inventory.

So, first thing this morning I'm off do Honda again...
