I'm buying a 2001 Odyssey. Wondered how narrow of a tire
can be placed on this model? I like NARROW snow tires.
They put more weight per sq. inch on the ground. Much
like a skaters' blades in ice skating, narrow is better for traction.
I'm no expert but that's my experience driving many decades.
Way back when VW BEETLES were popular I ran really narrow
tires and NEVER got stuck. Then again I loved rear wheel drive.
Mine had two brake levers for the parking brake (was a kit from
J.C. Whitneys) allowed you to brake one wheel (inner one in a
turn) making the other wheel push you around a bend. Was
a good way to drive in ice and snow. Used tire chains on Michelin
tires back then. I used to go out in the worst winter weather to see
if the BEETLE would get stuck. It never did.
Now, I'm NOT impressed with Michelins considering other
brands are so much cheaper and handle just as well. Don't
know if they wear as well now either (could be softer rubber
in the new ones).
