Lada wagon is now my official project car
Now that the wife and I have traded-in our respective "daily drivers" (Lumina APV for me and Honda Civic HB for her), my '91 Lada wagon is now my official project car.
I know the Honda Certified '05 Ody we just bought will be trouble-free (knock on wood) for a couple years so I'm hoping to divert my car repair money (mostly used to keep the Lumina on the road) to giving my Lada the TLC it needs, including a new paint job.
This is my 2nd Lada wagon (first one was an '86 which I sold after marrying my first wife) and now that I finally have a garage of my own, I can get serious about making it a superb project car.
I'm leaning towards keeping it mostly stock as I have an excellent and well-priced source for parts in Hungary. However, I do ant to address a few deficiences, like the carb and the paint. I also want to upgrade the rims & rubber, as well as remove the dealer-installed roof rack and replace it with a custom, removable full-length roof rack.
I'll post pics of the Lada this weekend after I get some decent shots of it. I just got it out of winter storage so it needs a cleaning.
Cheers !!
