I just purchased a new Odyssey Touring over the labor day weekend in L.A. I paid $35,600 + Fees so $38,735 out-the-door. The options that were added were Protection Pkg and Roof Rack Cross Bars. I noticed more promotions just came up for the car. So did I pay too much for the car based on the market and incentives out there now?

Well, when you bought the car that was the price you thought it was worth. Did you buy a 2009 or 2008? You got the car for quite a bit under invoice, right? It's too late now to beat yourself up about it, anyway.

I find that Carsdirect.com is a good indicator for current market prices, although you can always bargin better yourself, but it's good for giving you a general idea of what prices are. Like lab88 said tho, why beat yourself up, you got a great minivan, enjoy it! If it's any consolation, I paid more than that for my 06.

My brother-in-law bought a 07 Touring for $39k out the door. He is good at haggling and looking for a good deal. So I would say you did well IMO. This was way before all of these incentives like today were around.
I just bought a 07 Touring with 18800 miles yesterday for $27200 OTD. I wonder for myself how I did? |
