Default 2012 tourning transmisson shudder

Bought a new to us 2012 odyssey elite with just over 75000 our only issue so far has been a sometime shudder at low speeds and or while turning up a hill. First a simple check of the fluid as per the owners instructions I discovered it very overfull I drained out almost a full quart of very black fluid, then closer inspection I noticed an inline filter which proved to be a huge PITA to remove all the while trying to be careful so as not to spill fluid all over proved to be a waste of time. I didn’t slide the hose off until I had control of the filter still in the housing bracket as I maneuvered it out I was prepared for some spillage but not a drop. It wasn’t totally clogged but it was close. So I attached the return hose back to the transmission minus the filter and proceeded with a three drain an fill. On the first drain and drive the shutter was completely gone I wasn’t expecting that and with every drain I drove about 10 miles and the shifting only got better. From the various Honda forums I’ve read concerning this transmission and fluid I decided to go with Valvoline Maxlife full synthetic and some Lube Gard 63010 platinum. We have put about 500 miles with no issues or shudder.

When I bought my 2015 it had a slight shudder when 1st started. I was told it runs on 3 cylinders when at idle or under low loads. I never notice it now. ?
