Default Power Slide Door DTCs

'05 Ody EX
151 miles

The "Slide Door" indicator is lit in the instrument cluster, which is set by the door control unit and presumably represents some code. My Autel AL629 can't find it. The Honda service manual lists the steps to read the code using the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) tool.

How does one get the DTCs specific to the power slide door without the HDS?

Pull the number 7 fuse from under the driver's footwell for about 15 minutes and the system will reset. While your waiting clean the front and rear latch. Clean the area under the door of any trash and wipe down or relube the track. A most of silicone on the sliders will help. When you insert the fuse rest the doors.

nope. that wasn't the source of the problem.

i found a thread on another forum posted by a resourceful person whose symptoms matched mine exactly. the problem, turns out, was due to a failed micro-switch in the door-closing mechanism.

this person helpfully provided the exact part (a $2.75 microswitch available at radioshack.com) along with numbered instructions for removing the door-closer mech and the procedure for replacing the oem micro-switch with its near identical counterpart. in short, his fix worked perfectly.

my experience with this issue validates is the importance of posting a dilemma to multiple forums.

It was a first step in effort to help. Glad you posted the issue to other forums and updated this one.
